Director and Clinical Neuropsychologist
Dr Lei (they/them) specialises in the assessment and treatment of neurocognitive conditions, including ADHD and Autism. They are passionate about providing high-quality and inclusive care.

Dr Lei Gryffydd
Clinical Neuropsychologist and Director
Dr Lei (they/them) is a clinical neuropsychologist and founder of Elucidate Psychology. Their approach has been described as warm, gentle, and validating.
Neuropsychological Assessments:
Dr Lei has ten years experience conducting neuropsychological assessments across the lifespan, including diagnostic assessments to inform treatment, support, and funding applications. They have a special interest in assessing neurodevelopmental conditions (Autism, ADHD, and learning conditions), as well as memory and executive functioning issues. They are passionate about supporting other members of the LGBTQIA+ community with neurocognitive conditions such as ADHD and Autism.
Therapy and Intervention work:
Dr Lei specialises in providing targeted interventions and ongoing support in a range of areas including executive functioning, social communication, learning, and memory. They enjoy assisting individuals in developing effective study skills and improving academic performance, from those in the early stages of their education to advanced levels including PhD/doctoral candidates. They have a trauma-informed approach that incorporates a diverse range of therapeutic modalities and approaches.
Other Services:
Dr Lei conducts WPATH assessments for those seeking gender-affirming treatment. They developed and oversee the various programs at Elucidate Psychology, including peer group programs and therapy assistant programs. Dr Lei’s executive functioning and study skills groups will be running again in 2025.
Supervision:
They are a Board-approved supervisor who provides supervision for psychologists completing the registrar program. They can serve as a primary supervisor for clinical neuropsychology registrars or secondary supervisor for registrars from other areas of endorsement. Dr Lei also provide supervisions to clinicians seeking to develop knowledge and expertise in their areas of specialisation.
Background:
Dr Lei completed a Bachelor of Arts (psychology and philosophy) at the University of Melbourne, a Post Graduate Diploma (psychology) at Monash University, and a Doctor of Psychology (clinical neuropsychology) at La Trobe University. They have conducted research in the areas of autism, mild traumatic brain injury, memory, and cognition in older adults. Before working in private practice, they performed neuropsychological assessments in various public health settings (inpatient, subacute, rehabilitation, and outpatient) for a wide range of presentations, including neurodevelopmental, neurodegenerative, ABIs (TBI, stroke, etc.), epilepsy, and complex psychiatric conditions.
Availability: Dr Lei sees patients on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays.
Age Groups: Ages 6 and above for neuropsychological assessments and therapy. Dr Lei offers WPATH assessments for young people and adults seeking gender-affirming treatment.

Ty Tran
Registered Psychologist
Ty (he/him) is a warm and gentle psychologist dedicated to enhancing individuals’ quality of life. He acknowledges the various intersecting factors, such as gender, sexuality, race, religion, and socioeconomic status, that can limit an individual’s ability to access necessities and limit their opportunities in life. Ty strives to understand each client’s unique perspective and considers clients in relation to their psychological and physical well-being, as well as their broader social, cultural, and systemic environment.
ADHD Coaching and Therapy:
Ty specialises in providing ADHD coaching and psychological therapy to individuals at any stage of their journey, whether formally diagnosed or self-identified. His approach is neurodiversity-affirming, client-centred and skills-focussed. He enjoys collaborating with clients to develop their skills and implement strategies to not only manage symptoms but to thrive. Ty works closely with Dr Lei Gryffydd, clinical neuropsychologist, to provide specialised ADHD coaching and therapy.
Other Areas of Expertise:
Ty has extensive experience assisting individuals with employment and work-related challenges, such as career transitions and work-life balance. He enjoys assisting high performers, executives, professionals, and those in high-stress occupations. Additionally, he works with adults dealing with anxiety, depression, anger, substance use, perfectionism, burnout, stress, and low self-esteem. As a father of young children, he also enjoys helping other parents better manage their work and family responsibilities.
Treatment Approach:
Ty employs a client-driven, strengths-based approach that incorporates various evidence-based therapeutic modalities and techniques to support his clients. He tailors his approach to align with the individual’s specific needs and goals. He aims to create a therapeutic space that is validating, respectful, culturally safe and LGBTQIA+ inclusive.
Background:
Ty completed a Bachelor of Arts (Psychology) and Bachelor of Commerce (Human Resources) at Monash University before attaining a Post Graduate Diploma in Psychology (equivalent to Honours) at Deakin University. Subsequently, he earned a Master of Workplace and Employment Law from Monash University, followed by a Master of Organisational Psychology from Deakin University. He has conducted research in the field of industrial/organisational psychology, focusing on topics such as emotional exhaustion and burnout. Additionally, he works as a consultant providing organisational psychological assessments and services.
Availability: Ty sees patients on Saturdays.

Maja Brydevall

Maja (she/her) is a registered psychologist and clinical neuropsychology registrar who provides both assessments and ongoing therapy.
Neuropsychological Assessments
She has experience conducting neuropsychological assessments across the lifespan and with a wide range of populations. This includes assessing cognitive function following strokes and TBI, investigating learning difficulties, conducting ADHD and autism assessments, and working with patients with complex mental health presentations.
Approach:
Maja is friendly and warm and aims to provide a welcoming and collaborative environment, both when conducting neuropsychological assessments and in therapy sessions. She is passionate about helping people understand themselves better by providing insights and recommendations regarding their thinking skills through cognitive assessments, as well as by working together in therapy to improve overall wellbeing and achieve value-based goals. Her approach is caring, curious, and non-judgmental.
Background:
Maja completed a Bachelor of Arts (Psychology Honours) at the University of Melbourne and has recently submitted her doctoral thesis as part of her PhD (Clinical Neuropsychology) at Monash University. She has conducted research in decision-making, emotional regulation, reward processing, and addiction.
Availability: Maja sees patients on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.

Support Team
Mai Gryffydd
Clinic Manager and Lived Experience Lead
Mai (they/them) is our Clinic Manager and Lived Experience Lead. They manage the day-to-day operations of the clinic and supervise the support team. Mai is also an intentional peer support practitioner who faciliates our TGD and rainbow group programs. They are passionate about helping other members of the TGD community with neurocognitive conditions.
Mai Pham
Therapy Assistant
Mai (she/they) is a therapy assistant who works with NDIS participants to help implement the strategies and techniques developed by the participant’s treating psychologist. They deliver supports including play therapy under the supervision of Dr Lei Gryffydd. Mai also helps with administrative duties. Outside of her work at Elucidate Psychology, Mai is a third-year psychology student at the University of Melbourne.
Olivia Kearney
Therapy Assistant
Olivia (she/her) is a therapy assistant who works with NDIS participants to help implement the strategies and techniques developed by the participant’s treating psychologist. She primarily works with children and adolescents. She delivers supports including play therapy under the supervision of Dr Lei Gryffydd. Olivia also helps with administrative duties. Olivia is currently completing a Bachelor of Psychology/Bachelor of Laws at Australian Catholic University.
Alex
Administration Assistant
Alex (they/them) is our helpful administration assistant who is also involved in our youth group programs. Alex has lived experience of neurodivergence and is a member of the trans and gender-diverse community. They work closely with Mai, our Lived Experience Lead, to ensure our services are inclusive and neuroaffirming. Outside of this role, they are a busy student with a strong interest in psychology.

Jo Tran

Jo Tran
Senior Clinical Neuropsychologist
Jo (she/her) is an experienced clinical neuropsychologist and psychologist. She fosters warm, authentic, and collaborative connections with her clients. Together, they develop a shared understanding of her client’s difficulties and work toward achieving their goals in an effective and respectful way.
Jo is a trauma-informed therapist who genuinely cares about her client’s mental health and well-being. She aims to offer a compassionate, safe, and non-judgmental space for her clients to explore their current difficulties. Jo has over ten years of experience working within the public and not-for-profit sector. She has experience providing comprehensive neuropsychological assessments, interventions, and psychological therapy to clients under general medicine, aged care, psychiatry, acquired brain injury, concussion, stroke, neurology, and community rehabilitation.
Jo completed a Bachelor of Arts (psychology)/Bachelor of Science (neuroscience) at the University of Melbourne before undertaking Honours in psychology at Federation University and a Master of Clinical Neuropsychology at La Trobe University. She has over a decade of research experience in the area of acquired brain injury and is strongly committed to evidence-based practice. Jo is also a Board-approved supervisor.
Availability: Jo is available for appointments on Fridays (telehealth) and Saturdays.
